Diabetes Talkfest
The mission of DIABETES Talkfest is to support young adults through adults, families and friends that have been affected by diabetes.
We help to create friendships and support through the use of message boards and chat rooms.
Jon Schlaman and Gina Capone, first met on a diabetes message board in February of 2001. They only communicated through the use of Aol Instant Messenger and their online message board (guess neither of them wanted to rack up the phone bill.) In the past years, they have formed a lasting friendship, and also business partnership (enter: Diabetes Talkfest).
Gina is a type 1 pumper, from New York, and her partner Jon who has a 15 yr old son with type 1 diabetes, represents California. Together they unite people living with diabetes with their online diabetes support group DIABETES Talkfest. Their goal is to unite as many people living with diabetes as possible to share information, life experience and group support in dealing with this difficult condition.
The amazing thing about DIABETES Talkfest is that you can find real friendships and support, by expressing yourself through the message board, or connecting with other people in the chat room. ~Gina Capone, DTF founder
