A new Swedish study with 5-Hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP), also known as oxitriptan, involving 20 patients with type 2 diabets (randomized trial) showed inhibited intake of calories from carbs (about 435 fewer calories/day). A lower calorie intake is strongly correlated with better blood sugar control and very beneficial for people affected by diabetes.

Since the dissipation of the original Diabetes Talkfest, we to strive to preserve the content of the first diabetes site dedicated to live chat – the largest social network for people touched by diabetes.

“Few things generate diabetes burnout like the awful frustration of having followed instructions and done everything just right and still be failing to get the diabetes into control. At those times it seems no use to continue to try. Think how discouraging it is to fail at something you really wanted to do.Then consider what it must feel like to have diabetes and be failing at something you never, ever, wanted to do in the first place.” – Joan Williams Hoover
